2010

D&D Control (M) Sdn Bhd (D&D) started operations and positioned itself as an agent on behalf of Shipping Lines/Shipping Agents/Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCCs) for billing and collection of container incidental charges (Demurrage, Detention & Damage).

D&D was operating on a proprietary system called DNDM and primarily used for internal communications, administrative procedures for document submissions and data storage on behalf of Shipping Lines/Shipping Agents/NVOCCs for:

– Container Movement Monitoring
– Invoicing & Billing
– Dispute & Discount Management
– Collection of Incidental Charges
– Reimbursement Activity

2019

Industry Impasse on Container Deposit was a launch pad for D&D on an industry-wide Business Process Reengineering to pioneer a new financial solution, Container Ledger Account (CLA) later endorsed by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia and has been well supported by Malaysian Port Authorities, Trade Associations & Chambers and Domestic logistics industry players.

2021

D&D took the leap to move and digitalise its entire system launching a logistics community portal (CLA Portal) for payment ecosystem in February 2021. This secured and transparent portal is driving digital transformation in container logistics payment.

Further, CLA envisioned for international growth and spread its wings to the Philippines in December 2021.

2022

Subsequently, CLA received endorsement by the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) Philippines as a viable option in addressing container deposits issues as well as improve the competitiveness of SMEs. Plus, it gained strong joint-support by major Trade Associations & Chambers in Philippines.

2023

A joint endorsement between Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) Philippines and Department of Transportation (DOTr), whereby both agreed to jointly endorse CLA which appears to be an effective solution in simplifying the container deposit management in the Philippines.

Moreover, CLA has won The Star Outstanding Business (SOBA) Awards in Best Innovation category as a Meritorious Winner.
